Sakai, located in Osaka prefecture, is the most famous city in Japan for the highest quality cutlery and has a 600 year history of producing Samurai swords then eventually kitchen knives. Today, more than 90% of Japanese-style knives are from Sakai. Although Aoki Hamono may not have the longest history within Sakai, they are highly trusted by Chefs for their consistency in quality.
